When we moved into this wreck we had a priority list of what jobs needed doing first. Of course, the complete re-wire and re-plumb was at the top of this list but it was closely followed by the Divas bedrooms. We wanted the divas to be excited about the move and look forward to their sparkly new bedrooms. And not only that - we were going to give them en-suites. Fancy, eh?
So here's Divas 2's bedroom as it looked on the day we got the keys.

Dull and boring and as greige as can be, but a good sized room with a lovely bay window

As a knee jerk reaction against all that dreariness I pictured the room filled with colour and vibrancy, rather like Diva 2 herself. Now to begin creating the look...
I quickly landed on a boho theme, as there was so much boho stuff turning up on Instagram and Pinterest and I loved it! A visit to Tickle My Wickle in Lewes resulted in a few key purchases. A gorgeous multicoloured Peruvian rug and a wicker ceiling light. Once I'd chosen the blue/green colour for her feature wall (Vardo by Farrow and Ball) and the gorgeous bright and bold bedding from Pip Studio everything else seemed to fall into place.

It evolved quickly from this point, and here's how it's looking today.

I particularly love the bespoke art by Bohemianna who hand drew the 'L' (seen on the windowsill) and Mia at Mias Mandalas who drew the beautiful dream catcher art. I couldn't resist the rather fun giraffe print from Desenio as Diva 2 loves both animals and tennis. Win win!

And to make the room personal I found a gorgeous little wall holder for her very first violin. I think she was 5 when she played this. How cute

Although we had a brightly painted feature wall, I still felt we could jazz up the space a bit more. There were way too many neutral coloured walls for my liking so another one had to go. Life is DEFINITELY too short for greige. So Jay at A Perfect Finish popped round to paper a wall in Holden Decor Minerals Azurite Marble (wow that's a mouthful!) but it's so lovely and reminded me of the sea sparkling in the sunlight. After all, we do live at the seaside.

The ensuite continues the bold and bright theme. But first, here's the before pic

This literally sends shivers down my spine. I would not fancy relaxing in a bubble bath in this space. The tiles had to go, and the bath and sink for that matter. We also halved the room to make it smaller and cosier, turning the other half into a walk in wardrobe. Pictures of that to follow as it's a work in progress.
Here's how the bathroom looks now.

Altogether more inviting. A fair few bubble baths have been enjoyed here. Many an insanely coloured bath bomb has been dissolved! And the totally fabulous thing about going boho and bright is that nothing needs to co-ordinate. Pretty much anything works in the space.
Eclectic, vibrant and evoking happiness.
And even when it's raining outside, in here the sun is always shining.
